What do you find is the best orientation for a dual-monitor configuration?

I have 2 monitors, one a flat panel mounted above my laptop, and the other a large CRT to the right of my lappy. So my question is what do you find to be the most efficient use of a dual monitor to be in regards to placement?

I put one monitor in front of me and set it to low resolution. I use that for text. I put the other monitor next to me and set it for high resolution. I use that for picture and movies.
